DELHI SCHOOLS REOPEN TODAY AFTER THE AMIDST FOG CHALLENGES WITH COLD WAVE

An official statement issued on Sunday states, “All students of Delhi government, government-aided, and recognised private schools, including Nursery, KG, and Primary classes, shall return to physical classes from January 15”.

it is directed that all students of Government, Government Aided and Recognised Private Schools shall join back classes in physical mode at their respective schools with effect from 15/01/2024 (Monday).

In Delhi schools will reopen for physical classes from today as the extended winter break ends. As a precautionary measure for the prevailing cold wave and foggy conditions, class timings have been changed.

The Delhi Government circular said, it is directed that all students of Government, Government Aided and Recognised Private Schools shall join back classes in physical mode at their respective schools with effect from 15/01/2024 (Monday). This includes Nursery, KG and Primary classes as well. it has guided that, keeping in mind the prevailing foggy conditions, no school will start before 9 a.m. and have classes beyond 5 p.m. till further directions.

Delhi experienced its fourth consecutive day of a cold wave on Monday, with the temperature at Safdarjung dropping to 3.3 degrees Celsius. the coldest temperature this winter – and a thick layer of fog evident in various parts of the city.

On January 7, Delhi education minister Atishi announced that winter break would be extended till January 12 amid the ongoing cold wave situation in the national capital.

“Schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 5 days due to the prevailing cold weather conditions, for students from nursery to class 5,” Atishi tweeted.

the Delhi Education Department has adjusted class timings as a precautionary measure due to the prevailing cold wave and foggy weather conditions. The Education Department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also aligned with the directive, instructing the resumption of physical classes from January 15, 2024. Delhi Education Minister Atishi announced the closure of Delhi schools from nursery to class 5 due to severe fog conditions.

“Schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 5 days due to the prevailing cold weather conditions, for students from nursery to class 5,” Atishi had tweeted earlier.

The national capital continued to reel under severe cold conditions on Sunday morning as the minimum temperature dropped to 3.5 degrees Celsius — this winter’s lowest — and a thick layer of fog was seen in several parts of the city, weather officials said.

The entire school staff will remain working on January 16. The said order should be strictly followed,” Panwar said in an order.
